Pistachio Cream!!

Pistachio cream is a rich and creamy spread or filling made primarily from ground pistachio nuts. It typically includes additional ingredients such as sugar, cream or milk, and sometimes flavorings like vanilla extract or almond extract. Its gaining alot of popularity recently due to its rich and distinct flavor, creamy texture, and vibrant green color. Bakeries and cafes are incorporating pistachio cream into a variety of sweet treats and desserts, from cakes and pastries to cookies and tarts. Whether used as a filling for macarons, swirled into cheesecake batter, or layered between flaky puff pastry, pistachio cream adds a deliciously nutty and indulgent touch to any dessert creation.



With your homemade pistachio cream, you can create an array of delectable desserts and treats. Spread it on toast, swirl it into yogurt, or use it as a filling for cakes, pastries, or cookies. The possibilities are endless with this creamy and flavorful pistachio treat!


Ingredients
  • 1 cup shelled pistachios (unsalted)

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

  • 1 tablespoon honey/ maple syrup (optional)

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

  • Pinch of salt


Instructions
  1. Begin by blanching the pistachios to remove their skins, if desired. Bring a pot of water to a boil and add the pistachios. Boil for 1-2 minutes, then drain and rinse under cold water. Rub the pistachios between your fingers to remove the skins. Alternatively, you can use pre-blanched pistachios to skip this step.

  2. In a food processor or blender, pulse the pistachios until finely ground. You may need to scrape down the sides of the bowl occasionally to ensure even grinding.

  3. Add the powdered sugar, heavy cream, honey (if using), vanilla extract (if using), and a pinch of salt to the ground pistachios.

  4. Blend the mixture until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed to incorporate all the ingredients.

  5. Taste the pistachio cream and adjust the sweetness or consistency as desired. If you prefer a thinner consistency, you can add more cream. For a sweeter flavor, add additional powdered sugar or honey.

  6. Once the pistachio cream reaches your desired consistency and taste, transfer it to a clean jar or airtight container.

  7. Store the cream in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Allow it to come to room temperature before using to soften slightly.
